regardless of whether you’ve decided to go green to help the environment, to save money, or just to see how easy it is, every step you take towards eco-friendly living is one that helps the world.
if you’re just starting out and want some sustainable living ideas then here are a couple of steps to get you started:
step1: turn it off
energy conservation is one of the most important things you can do to reduce your carbon footprints. leaving your electrical on standby needlessly uses up energy -hit the off switch and you could see huge improvements, most noticeably in your energy bills.
step2: switch to renewables:
changing your energy suppliers to one that’s 100% renewable is a great eco-friendly tip for any home. anyone can do it, switching is simple and hassle-free plus all the electricity you use when on a 100% renewable tariff is effectively zero carbon!
step3:dont waste food
waste not, want not. did you know that 7.3 million tonnes of food is wasted in the U.K every year? this isn’t just a huge waste of food and money, it adds to the amount odd co2 being created in landfills.
step4: recycle everything
chances are that if you’re thinking about taking on a more eco-friendly lifestyle then you’ll already be recycling. but could you improve your recycling-ability . you can recycle almost everything, from batteries to papers to cars. before you throw it away, take a minutes to find out if you could recycle it instead.
for good health, we need more than 40 different nutrients, and no single food can supply them all. its not about a single meal, its about a balanced food choices over time that will make a differences!
a high-fat lunch could be allowed by a low-fat dinner
after a large meat portion at dinner, perhaps fish should be the next days choice?
2. reduce salt and sugar intake
a high salt intake can result In high blood pressure, and increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. there are different ways to reduce salt in the diet:
when shopping, we could choose products with low sodium content.
when cooking, salt can be substituted with spices, increasing the variety of flavours and tastes.
when eating, it helps not to have salt at the table, or atheist not to add salt before tasting.
sugar provides sweetness and an attractive taste, but sugary foods and drinks are in rich in energy, and are best enjoyed in moderation, as an occasional treat. we could use fruits instead, even to sweeten our foods and drinks.
KEEP YOURSELF HYDERATED
drinking water is extremely important as it helps dehydrate your body and helps it function better. make sure you gulp down 8-10 glasses of water and ensure a well hydrated body. do not drink extremely chilled water as it will not only real havoc on your health.
CHOOSE FRESH JUICES OVER COLD DRINKS
Summer makes you thirsty more often, which makes us resort to cold drinks and energy drinks that prove to be hazardous in the long run. whenever you feel like quenching your thirst, prefer drinking orange juice or melon juice.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
